CALEDON GARDENS, a four star AA Highly recommended establishment is situated in the unspoilt Caledon Valley in the magnificent Eastern Free State Highlands. Situated between Clarens "The Art Mecca of the Freestate", and Fouriesburg (20km from each) and only 4km's off the R711 Maloti Tourism route, on a 312 hectare farm.

The guesthouse accommodates 12 guests with en-suite rooms available. Underfloor heating and ceiling fans are fitted. Food can be served in our restaurant or around our dam situated in the lush gardens, which is spectacularly lit up at night, transforming it into a colourful romantic wonderland.

Truly a place to come and relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air and the tranquillity of the Caledon Valley, overlooking Lesotho. Caledon Gardens has a wide variety of birdlife in the gardens, a true pleasure for bird watching.

ACCOMMODATION:
The guesthouse accommodates 12 guests with en-suite rooms available. Underfloor heating and ceiling fans are fitted. Accommodation is on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Our unspoilt views of Lesotho and the Maluti Mountains make for wonderful dining and sun downers.


RESTAURANT:
The Caledon Gardens Licensed Restaurant offers you a gastronomic experience with an “a la carte” menu with choices of continental cuisine and some South African favourites. For romantics and fine-dinners we offer a choice of music on our big screen TV in the restaurant or DSTV for those special sporting events.
Food can be served on our sandstone veranda or around our dam situated in the lush gardens, which is spectacularly lit up at night, transforming it into a colourful romantic wonderland. Your other options are in the private dining room in the house or on your own private patio. Our unspoilt views of Lesotho and the Maluti Mountains make for wonderful dining and sun downers.
Homemade breads, soups and continental country cooking is the order of the day in the cooler winter months, with unique, scrumptious fresh salads being served in the warmer summer months. Lighter meals are also available during the day. Country style breakfasts are served on a daily basis.

Special events are catered for with up to 50 guests being seated in our restaurant. The views combined with a gastronomic experience in an excellent country setting, makes for great dinning.

FACILITIES & SERVICES:
Full DSTV on a big screen is provided for guest’s use, in the bar, and the restaurant or in the comfortable communal lounge with a log fire to provide heart warming memories, sipping Glühwein around the fireplace on those cold evenings.

ART: Art and Culture is available with sandstone sculptures, international and local oil on canvas prints and Lesotho mohair products, for sale.

ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS:
Caledon Gardens has easy access to Clarens and skiing in Lesotho in winter. A wide variety of activities are available in the area, including but a few, are fly fishing, golf, hiking trails and many more.

DIRECTIONS:
An easy two and half hours from Johannesburg, Pretoria or Bloemfontein or three and half hours from Durban. Caledon Gardens is located 18km's from Clarens on the Fouriesburg road (R711), then 4km of gravel road into the heart of the Caledon Valley.
